A stray cat in Shaanxi Forest of Steles Museum scratched a child and may be expelled. Netizens signed a petition calling for them to be kept. At noon on July 22, Hantang.com, the official Weibo of the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, retweeted a Weibo post asking for adoption of a cat from a scholarly family. The cat in the Forest of Steles Museum suddenly became a hot search term on Weibo.

According to reports, a few years ago a yellow kitten strayed into the Beilin Museum. It grew up and bred under the care of caring staff in the museum, and now it has developed into a big family. However, a few days ago, a tourist's child was playing with a newborn kitten in the Forest of Beilin Museum and was scratched by the mother cat, resulting in complaints from tourists. According to people familiar with the situation, in order to prevent future visitors from being scratched by cats, the museum decided on July 20 to expel all stray cats in the museum.

On July 21, the Beilin Museum also called on the public on its official Weibo not to post information about cats. Although the official Weibo did not state that the museum had decided to expel all the cats, some people swore that the kitten family had to leave.

In addition to being concerned about cats being released, netizens seem to be more critical of parents’ discipline of their children. At present, it is not certain whether the kitten family can continue to stay. The museum has not given a clear answer. The museum has painted a small yellow cat on the graphic sign, and also stated that cultural relics and cats in the museum should not be touched, that we, like the cultural relics, can only see but not touch, love the Forest of Steles, love us, etc. After this set of loving graphic signs was posted, many netizens gave thumbs up to the Forest of Steles Museum.

The good news is that according to people familiar with the matter, professional organizations have contacted the museum. Even if Xiao Huang’s family has to leave the Forest of Steles Museum in the future, they can rest assured that a professional adoption agency will take care of them. But netizens seem to prefer that the cats stay in the museum.
