Early this morning, Manchester City beat Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League, and Foden was interviewed by BBC Sports after the game.
Fourden said: "Returning to the starting lineup and scoring a goal means a lot to me. I was in good shape at the beginning of the season, but two ankle injuries were really frustrating. You guys saw the emotional release of my goal. I have been working very hard and eager to deliver this effort into the game. I am not a person who is good at speaking off the court, but I prefer to prove it with actions. I only focus on what I can control, that is the performance of the field. After returning from the Club World Cup, I feel like I am in better shape."
"I am satisfied with my current state, I am very happy and I hope to continue working on the training ground and strive to be better."
"After the past two games, a short rest has brought great benefits. Today is an important accumulation and improvement. I appreciate the tactical diversity of the team today. It may be lacking in the past. It is good to show that we can both stick to the offense and be able to defend."
Speaking of the deceased boxing champion Hatton, Foden said: "I was lucky to meet him several times, and the feeling of the first meeting was always memorable. He is a lovely guy and an avid Manchester City fan. I made sure to do my best for him. I want to win this victory for him and his family, which is heartbreaking news."
