David Weir joined Brighton as Development Channel Manager in 2018. After briefly serving as assistant technical director, he became the club's technical director after Ashworth left office in May 2022.
Chairman Tony Bloom said: "David has made outstanding contributions to the club, but we hope to innovate the technology department with new leadership and direction. Thank you for everything you have done and wish him all the best in the future."
CEO and Vice Chairman Paul Barber said: "It has been a great time to work with David in the past eight years, and thank him for his consistent support and hard work. I wish David a bright future."
Before confirming his successor, Paul Barber will continue to work with the existing senior management team to comprehensively supervise the club's technical department.
