MediaTek announced its financial report for the third quarter of 2025. Revenue reached the upper edge of its operating targets in U.S. dollars. Vice Chairman and CEO Cai Lixing said that it was mainly due to better-than-expected demand for Dimensity 9500. Quarterly revenue calculated in New Taiwan dollars exceeded the operating target, mainly because the actual exchange rate was NT$1 to NT$30, which was better than the operating target assumption of NT$1 to NT$1.
Cai Lixing pointed out that in the past quarter, ubiquitous AI continued to have exciting developments. The continuous innovation of Agentic AI and AI applications in various industries drives the demand for AI computing. As a result, many hyperscale data centers have announced a significant increase in capital expenditures and plan to deploy powerful AI computing capabilities in the next few years. This is a virtuous cycle for the long-term growth of artificial intelligence, and it is still in the very early stage of the AI huge wave trend.
Cai Lixing said that in the cloud field, improving the total cost of ownership (TCO) of data centers has always been a key issue for hyperscale data centers, and customized chips can be optimized for specific workloads of cloud service providers (CSP) and are a solution that can create more value for data centers. MediaTek's first AI accelerator ASIC project has been successfully implemented and continues to target cloud ASIC revenue of US$1 billion in 2026, and is expected to reach billions of US dollars by 2027.
On the edge, MediaTek creates powerful edge AI chips to promote AI innovation on the device side in smartphones, tablets, personal computers, cars, and more. In the third quarter of 2025, we will launch the latest flagship mobile chip - Dimensity 9500, which adopts the industry-leading dual-core NPU architecture, uses high-performance NPU to process complex AI instructions, and uses high-performance NPU to run lightweight AI models to achieve a seamless and instant AI experience. Our customers have leveraged this powerful architecture to improve AI user experiences such as photography and AI assistants.
In addition, GB10, co-designed by MediaTek and NVIDIA, has also been officially mass-produced. GB10 empowers the world's smallest AI supercomputer DGX Spark, which can locally perform inference on AI models with up to 200 billion parameters, and fine-tune models with up to 70 billion parameters.
Looking to the future, MediaTek believes that advanced processes and advanced packaging technologies will bring more AI innovation and applications to various industries. MediaTek is one of the few companies with the ability to continue investing, and it is also a leader with the ability to design 2nm chips for customers in different industries. We have completed the design finalization of the first TSMC 2nm process chip in the third quarter of 2025, and the product is expected to be launched in 2026.
