SMIC International limits the Shengten 910 series production capacity! In order to expand vertically, China creates "Chinese version of ASML"

Ruisui Securities analyst Vijay Rakesh released the latest foreign information report, pointing out that the shipment volume of the Ascend 910 series AI chips will be about 700,000 in 2025, and the reason for the impact on shipment is that the current yield of SMIC International (SMIC) process is only 30%.

According to reports by foreign media WccFtech, Vijay Rakesh pointed out in the report, "In the Chinese market, we expect the shipment of Ascend 910 A/B/C series chips to exceed 700,000 in 2025, but the international yield of the main foundry manufacturer SMIC is still relatively low, with an expected 30%. "

The Chinese semiconductor industry regards the Ascend 910C as the "China DeepSeek Time". The chip is actually combined with two older 910Bs. The peak performance under FP16 can reach 800 TFLOP/s, and the memory frequency width is 3.2 TB/s. The performance is considered comparable to the NVIDIA H100. At present, the chip has entered the mass production stage from SMIC and is expected to be launched in China soon.

It is worth noting that China uses SMIC International 7-nanometer process for the Ascend 910C and uses deep ultraviolet (DUV) exposure technology, but the yield of this line is only about 30%, which is far below the industry's mature process standards. However, in order to continuously expand chip manufacturing capabilities in China, according to the latest news, as many as 11 wafer factories are related to China, they use different names to cover up the actual connection with China.

This also shows that China is pursuing the construction of vertical integration systems and strengthening the leading authority of semiconductor industries. It is also reported that China is also cooperating with Chinese local equipment manufacturer SiCarrier to develop the next generation of exposure equipment. If it is successfully produced, the new Kara is expected to become the Chinese version of ASML, further helping China to eliminate the American chip technology lock.

The Trump administration of the United States has recently established export controls on NVIDIA's China-specific version of H20 and AMD's MI308, and has also issued new guidance, stating that if the world uses China as the Shengten 910 series chips, it will be considered as violating the US export control regulations.
